A google map to help bring wider attention to the properties in Dorchester that are endangered, either by slow-motion demolition through deliberate neglect, or by developers looking to build new development projects. There are also markers representing already-lost properties, and markers for the remaining potentially historic properties in Dorchester, some of which may not be recognized or considered significant enough for preservation by their owners. It is understood that not all situations can, or should, result in strict "preservation" and so this group is supportive of creative ways to adapt and re-use the valuable materials and craftsmanship embodied in older construction. For the summary of what is included on the map, and what the color-coded markers mean, please click the 'view in larger map' link at the bottom.
