beetle ranchers wanted

Want to help control purple loosestrife? Volunteer to raise Galerucella beetles in controlled conditions in a kiddie pool in your yard. When released in July the bugs love to eat purple loosestrife, a lovely but rampantly invasive plant taking over local wetlands, causing major problems for native species. Get in touch with the Neponset River Watershed Association to volunteer.
