If you see folks digging up some trees or plants in Peabody Square, they are saving them in advance of a major overhaul. We hear gardeners in the neighborhoods around the Square are pitching in to recycle worthy perennials and shrubs.
Help is needed tomorrow morning (Saturday, March 20, 2010), starting at 9 a.m., to dig up yews, roses, day lilies, and other plants in the Peabody Square Park and move them to the Library lot and Ashmont/Burt sidewalk garden. Please bring spades, clippers, large pots, small tarps if you have them.
