walk, Dorchester

walking to work at Baker Chocolate
I liked this BBC video, How to get America to walk about efforts in Raleigh, North Carolina - first I thought: "how to get America to walk? I just want more people in Dorchester to walk!" Then it made me think: "we really need wayfinding signs! hmm, unsanctioned campaign..." Then, it made me glad we live in the city - wow I would hate to live in the suburbs where there aren't even sidewalks...

eating pancakes in Dorchester, yum!

On Tuesday we were pleased to be invited to visit the Marshall Elementary School and see a happy throng of young students enjoying a nice breakfast of pancakes and fruit while decorating a Pumpkin Pancake treat. The school also received financial support for nutrition education. The Aunt Jemima Breakfast Education Tour is going around the country to deliver the message about how important breakfast is - they also have a photo contest to enter for a chance to win a family vacation!
